Did you know that 1 packaged Kit Kat is 220 calories

Did you know that 2 organic eggs have about 220 calories

Did you know that 1 grande Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks is 220 calories?

Did you know that 1 cup of organic whole fat yogurt is 220 calories?

Yup.

Now there is an interesting little view on calories right there! Do you remember being told the “Calories in Calories out” mentality? Just count the calories and you will just drop the pounds!

I will tell you, yes you need to be aware of calories in and out when there is a desire to lose the weight that you are struggling to lose.

That is accurate…so no need to panic I am not throwing the statement out entirely!

We need to be looking at one thing…..the Nutrient Density of those Calories!

What in the world does that mean?

It means that the food you eat holds more weight (ha! Like that one!) than just the number of calories. We need to be looking at the density in terms of Fat, Protein, Carbs, minerals, and vitamins within that food.

Let’s go back to the Kit Kat candy bar  for a hot second, shall we. The Kit Kat has  11 grams of fat, 20 grams of sugar, 2.7 grams of protein, pretty much 0 vitamins and minerals.

The Organic Grass Fed Eggs (2 total)  have19 grams of healthy saturated fat, 0 sugar, 23 grams of protein, vitamin D, Calcium, Iron, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Thiamin, Vitamin B12, Folate, Riboflavin.

Read that one more time.
