Finding time, this is a funny phrase to me.
We as a culture seem to trying to find time in our day for all the things we want to accomplish and we hold onto those accomplishments deeply.
I know that currently I am catching myself doing just that…trying to find time to do ALL the things that I have convinced myself I need to get done. I create some serious expectations on myself.
Basically, we all do TOO MUCH every single day. I am watching this in my children as well. My daughter is 12, she is in dance and now volleyball. Both of these sports happen after school multiple days a week, throw in the games and also dance compititions coming up in March and April, that is A LOT for a small human who is also in school and wanting to have a social life as well. She is 12! Does a 12 year old need to do ALL the things?
I am currently in a mini yoga philosophy club this month, where we are focusing on a yoga sutra a week, this week….

Practice and non-attachment restrain the modifications of the mind
Do not fret, this can seem super heady and overwhelming but just bear with me for a brief second. I know you may read this and think…whoa too deep for me on a Sunday morning.
Its not.
When I read this, it is asking us to practice things in our life, and to apply ease and non attachment to the goals of these practices. I love this, as it is just a reminder to let us know that we do not have to create such massive expectations for ourselves in our daily practices.
These practices could be exercise, mediation, cooking dinner for your family, playing a sport, etc.
So, when we think about wanting to “find the time” for ourselves and for our own self care we do not need to make a huge massive decision, we simply need to find something attainable and doable in the very moments we are in. Yes, this does take some work to schedule or coordinate, but in the end, the overall well being of you is so much better off!
So, pick some very simple practices you could offer yourself this week or even this month. A massage, a yoga class, a facial with me! :) How about going for a 10 min walk a couple of times a week?
Finding self-care in a busy life doesn’t have to be overwhelming—it’s about weaving small, meaningful moments into your day. Start by taking mini-breaks, like a five-minute stretch, a deep breathing exercise, or sipping your coffee mindfully instead of rushing through it. Set some boundaries by saying no to non-essential commitments and carving out even 10-15 minutes for yourself. Incorporate habit stacking, like listening to an uplifting podcast while commuting or doing a face mask while answering emails.
If time feels tight, make use of pockets of stillness, like waking up a few minutes earlier for 5-10 min mediation or prayer or journaling before bed. Prioritizing yourself doesn’t mean finding extra hours—it’s about making the most of the ones you already have.
I hope you find time this week! Namaste to each and every one of you!
