What are the steps in your skincare routine?
I know....you have no time...I get it...I think I can help!
Maybe you do not have any steps because…well…it's daunting and overwhelming and who in the world has time to do 25 steps to take care of your skin when you are rushing out of the house in the morning to get your kids to school on time and when the end of the day hits…..hell no….any sort of regimen is NOT. GOING. TO. HAPPEN!
Let’s just break it down. Simple 4 or 5-step process that can take you less than 5 minutes!Â
Cleanse: Simply WASH. YOUR. FACE. Get makeup, dirt, and grime off your skin. And to be honest with you, when clients come to me and panic over a regimen….my recommendation is to simply start by washing your face at night. I promise you, your skin WILL survive.
Tone: What in the world is a toner? Well, when you wash your face, you strip your skin of its PH and it needs to be re-hydrated and brought back to balance before you apply any moisturizer so that your skin is capable of taking in those nutrients to hydrate! Simply spray on your face!
Serum: OPTIONAL! This step is a choice. If you are struggling with a specific issue such as skin damage or hyperpigmentation due to too much sun exposure this is a more necessary step to heal. Incorporating a more potent and nutrient-rich serum will add to the healing process due to a higher potency.
Moisturize: When we cleanse our skin and tone our skin we are only halfway there. That moisturizer is magic! It is a way to lock in that moisture and get those cells to stay plump and the layers of your skin and stay strong and hydrated….which leads to plump and boosted skin!
SPF: Support your skin with a small amount of SPF, this is also an OPTIONAL situation. I believe in protecting our skin, but I am also a firm believer in making sure you are using the most appropriate SPF you can.
Why?
Because, if you want to find toxic skincare…..you will find toxicity in sunscreen! This is something you need to do your research on and only apply this when you are going to be in direct sunlight for a long time. Your skin needs to see the sun, it gets massive amounts of Vitamin D, it only takes a few minutes to get that! Stay tuned for my recommendations on sunscreen!
This is a simple and easy-to-introduce process that will not take more than 5 minutes in the morning and before bed. I want you to consider something, what about 5 minutes of self love twice a day is a pretty amazing way to take care of your skin…and YOU too!
Those 5 minutes give you a slow space of time to breathe, to reconnect with yourself, and to nourish not just your skin but your soul too!
I have a feeling I know what your next question is going to be….
What in the world do I use on my skin? I have no clue what to use or how to use it.
I got you! This is SO CHALLENGING, the beauty industry is a MULTI MILLION DOLLAR industry with literally NO standards. So, basically anything can be made into a beauty product even if it is loaded with toxic chemicals.Â
Being able to work with someone who can guide you through what is happening with your skin specifically is really important. Gain the education on what skincare is appropriate for you and what skincare is safe and effective! I want to be able to support you, when you book a facial with me, I take the time to work through a very specific process.
Analyze-Customize-Adapt-Educate.
Taking time to specifically analyze what your own skin is like allows me to customize your treatments, so that we can most effectively treat your own bio individuality and adapt your skincare routine to fit you perfectly. You can walk away from your treatment with education on how to take care of you from the inside out.
Think about 5 minutes twice a day. That is not much time to love yourself each day.Â
Why not?
You are worth it!
